Fun painting methods! $120 plus $40 materials fee… all materials provided. 2 days to play with oil paint. Lots to learn, come grow with some nice folks in a beautiful, well-lit space in historic downtown Round Rock.

Designing Poetry Into Your Paintings-Sundays 2nd and 9th 12PM-3PM @ The Downtowner Gallery in Round Rock, TX

2 days to design beautifully with oil paint. Lots to learn, come grow with some nice folks in a beautiful, well-lit space in historic downtown Round Rock.

Class fee is $150.
The class fee is payable in advance through preregistration. Registration closes at midnight January 30.
A starter set of oil colors and brushes will be available for purchase if needed. Students bring all other supplies, listed below.
All skill levels welcome.

Students may bring or purchase the following as indicated:

Students are welcome to bring their own oil colors or purchase a starter set offered.
2 canvas panels will be provided. Alternatively, students may bring canvases of a size and type of their choosing.
Students may bring brushes of their choice or brush sets will be available for purchase if needed

Colors recommended:
Titanium white
Carbon Black or Lamp Black
Cadmium Yellow Light
Cadmium Red Medium or Light
Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre
Primary Magenta or Alizarin Crimson
Ultramarine Blue
Viridian
Chromium Oxide Green
Vandyke Brown

Other supplies:
Highly refined odorless mineral spirits are to be used. Gamsol by Gamblin is recommended.
Walnut or Linseed oil is also generally useful.
Murphy’s Oil Soap works wonders to clean your brushes, hands, and any spots from your clothing.

About the instructor:
Arnica is a fine artist and graphic designer. She was an honors graduate of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. Now it’s time to share what she has learned over the intervening years. Arnica has produced work for book covers and movie posters and has also displayed and sold paintings, prints, and other artworks in Austin, TX and elsewhere for decades. She has been in a multitude of group and solo exhibitions in several states. She loves getting together with others and having a good time in the making of fun fine art. Arnica is currently affiliated with the Austin Visual Arts Association, the Port Aransas Art Center, Plein Air Austin, Plein Air Round Rock, and the San Marcos Art
League.
